  Gwen Stefani Detailed Biography

Born in Fullerton, California and later brought up in Anaheim, Gwen Stefani was the front woman of the band ‘No Doubt’. After Eric her elder brother, the founder of the band and the keyboardist left to pursue a career in animation and when John Spenser another of the partners committed suicide, Gwen led the band to many hit albums. Her unsuccessful relationship with band mate Tony Kanal led her to compose ‘Don’t Speak’. Five singles were released from Tragic Kingdom. The album sold more than sixteen million copies worldwide and received several Grammy Award nominations.

On September 17, 2002, Stefani married Bush guitarist Gavin Rossdale. Her solo career was more recognized for a pair of popular 2001 duets, the "Southside" and "Let Me Blow Ya Mind". In fact, Stefani became the first artist in history to win both Best Male Video and Best Female Video awards at the MTV VMA's, for "Southside" (credited as "Moby featuring Gwen Stefani") and "Let Me Blow Ya Mind" (credited as "Eve featuring Gwen Stefani") respectively, both in 2001. Stefani's debut solo album Love. Angel. Music. Baby. was released in November 2004. At the 2005 Grammy Awards, Stefani was nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and at the next year's awards; Stefani received five nominations for Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. Stefani's second solo album The Sweet Escape was released in December 2006.

Gwen created a sucessful fashion line, named L.A.M.B, which showcases clothing which Gwen would wear herself. The line also includes handbags and purses. Girls and young women who imitate Stefani's distinctive and trendsetting style of dress are sometimes referred to as "Gwenabees."
