The Swiss born Lawn Tennis player, Roger Federer is considered the best tennis player of his generation. The World No.1 has retained his position for 201 consecutive weeks. With the potential to become the greatest male tennis player ever, Federer has won 12 Grand Slam singles titles (three Australian Open, five Wimbledon, four U.S. Open), 4 Tennis Masters Cup titles, and 14 ATP Masters Series titles.

Federer as a boy was very emotional and was several times taken out of practice courts. Federer was a talented soccer player too. When he was younger, he liked to watch tennis player Marcelo Ríos in action. Federer especially liked Stefan Edberg and Boris Becker and has cited them as idols.

In 2000 Sydney Olympics, Federer met Slovakia-born Miroslava Vavrinec (Mirka), who retired from tennis in 2002 after a foot injury. He is currently dating her.

Since the age of six, Federer started playing tennis. At 14, Roger became the national champion of all groups in Switzerland.Federer reached his first final in Marseille which he lost to Marc Rosset and was also the runner-up in Basel.
